Messy Church on the Beach July 2016

Sunday 17th July on Gyllyngvase beach, the sky was clear and blue, and the turquoise sea rippled invitingly. What more could you want for the last Messy Church of the term? Just a few energetic families, a rope, a ball, a ‘bat’ and a box for stumps, plus plenty of sun screen to apply between swims and some cold drinks. We had it all.

When a change of tempo was needed we sat down on the sand while Alan gave us a talk on how much better life was knowing that we were all part of ‘Team Jesus’ – no-one was rejected because they were not fast, tall or good enough. This was followed by freshly barbecued sausages and burgers and we finished with delicious homemade cakes and fresh fruit (both, not either or). The final comment said it all; “But I don’t want to go home”.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped us to run Messy Church, we could not do it without you, and a special thank you and good wishes to Marcus as he heads off ‘up North’.

We look forward to families joining us again in September – details to follow.
